urban-garden-smaller.jpgDetroit is revisiting its “roots”…literally.  The city has been overrun with crime, unemployment, and a philandering mayor that has cost the city millions.  But now, those who can’t seem to find a way to keep their head above water can, at least, feed their families from new gardens sprouting up everywhere.  Urban Farming is a charity headquartered in Detroit that has already planted 500 gardens and is looking to take the idea to London.  The idea of alleviating hunger in urban centers should make anyone want to come out and grab a shovel.  Read the full story here.
