How many of those successful in the sports and entertainment fields have spawned little wannabe trainwrecks that ill-advisedly strive to be in the limelight like their parents?  Too many to mention, but every now and then out pops a winner…and by george I think we’ve found one.  Jerry Rice’s daughter Jacqui ‘Qui’ Rice has thrown her hat into the R&B ring and it aint sounding half bad.   For now, check out her first single release ‘Rev It Up’ featuring David Banner:  http://streaming.thinktankmktg.com/audio/qui-rev_it_up.wma

Sounds like a Ciara/Michael/Janet kinda hybrid (kinda wispy), but it works, eh?!?  And I realize Bad Boy’s Cheri Dennis just unsuccessfully came with this vibe, but if you keep throwing them at the wall, one is bound to stick.  What do you think?

A Testament to the Devaluation of the ‘King’

Question:  20 years ago, would you have ever thought that the ‘King of Pop’ would guest appear on a track that doesn’t end up making an album?  Well, as a testament to the apparent devaluation of Mijac’s ‘STUperstar’ capital,  he appeared on an Ursh song that was set to be included on his latest release ‘Here I Stand’ but didn’t make it.  Now, I don’t know the politics that went into its exclusion, but it was certainly left behind.  I, personally, think the song is hot and should’ve been wedged in there somewhere (legalities notwitstanding), but I’ll let you listen to the snippet (in which I admit that I didn’t even hear Michael, short of the ‘Rock With You’ beat) and decide:

’Stand’ will go on to sell its millions without it, of course….errr…I think, but dang, you don’t leave the King – who was once your Idol – on the cutting room floor….I’m just sayin’…

BARACK SUPPORT OR SABOTAGE?

4. June 2008

The Obamas have seen an unrivaled share of criticism and controversy during their trek to the Presidential nomination.  Barack has had to denounce his pastor and now leave the church where he, as well as his family, have worshipped for 20 years.  The PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE has had to deny allegations of dealings with a terrorist, a slumlord, and various other people of question. Then the cherry on top was a barrage of criticism aimed at his wife for various reasons:  so-called anti-American rhetoric, elitism, plain ol’ fashioned support of her husband to name a few.

But in their allegiance to Barack, some supporters have given him more grief than aid.  Reverends Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger have tried to speak out for the nominee, but the end result was not good, to say the least.  But nothing not even their well intended support has compared to the latest satiric depiction of the GOP posted by the liberal online media source, the Daily Kos.  A poster/supporter that goes by the name of OneCitizen has run amok in support of Barack.  The portrayal is detestable in what it insinuates, but is it accurate?  But aside from that, is it necessary?  Were the derisive sermons delivered by the reverends necessary?  Hasn’t Obama shown himself to be a stand-up guy?  Hasn’t he run a phenomenal campaign?  Haven’t his speeches been moving and inspirational enough to take a nation to the voting booths?  Check out the picture…does Obama, NOW AS THE NOMINEE, need this kind of help?  Apparently, the Daily Kos has already weighed in by removing it from the site.
