According to the AJC, Kanye West recently left a bitter taste in the mouths of Bonnaroo festival (Woodstock-type event held in Manchester, TN) attendees when he took the stage almost two hours late — at around 4:25 a.m.  Angry festival goers showed him were he could stick his glow in the dark sticks by pelting the stage with them, amid chants of ‘Kanye sucks!’  Folks, get ready for a little ‘whining’ and dining from Mr. West to make up for it.  Read the story here.

Grown Women Hold Sex Party For Minors

14. June 2008

sexmoms.jpgWhen we heard about several teachers sleeping with their students, one of them going as far as having children with one of them, we thought we heard it all.  But now here we are with two women giving a slumber party written write out of the content of R. Kelly’s sex tape.  Well, to be judicially correct, R. Kelly’s “double’s” sex tape.

Police in Bucks County, Pennsylvania reported that two mothers Angela Honeycutt, 38, and Lynne Long, 45, have been charged with several assault and indecency charges after a sleepover with six teenage boys.  Long held the “sleepover” at her home while Honeycutt provided entertainment.

Honeycutt, the mother of two small children, allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old and performed sexual favors on the 15-year-old.  Long allegedly watched, listened and instructed the boys not to tell anyone.  That went out the door when one of the boys revealed the escapade to his parents.   Both women have been released from custody after surrendering and paying their own bail.  Go here to view the video and full story.

Gas Protesters say ‘Kiss My Gass!’

12. June 2008

Well finally someone is stepping up to do something about this gas situation!  And the “someone” is US!  We’ve always been the answer to our gas price misery.  When is the last time you had to actually take a loan out at the bank just to fit gas into your monthly bills?  There are all kinds of recreational vehicles or RV’s that won’t be moving across the street this summer.  Memorial day was like any other day on the road.  The most vacant 95 has been during any holiday.

The Kiss My Gass! campaign will kick-off June 15 and end July 14.  The campaign simply asks that we not buy gas from Mobil, Exxon or Esso during that time.  Easy right?  We should include other gas distributors like BP and Shell.  Yes! Yes! they’re trying to focus on Mobil and Exxon because we buy the most gas from them, but every little bit counts.  To join in the ranks of those who are fed up and ready to protest, go here.

Think of NASCAR….OK that’s long enough.  What did you think of?  What is the first thing that came to mind?  A. Cars   B. Men  C. “Good ol’ Boys”  That’s right!  D.  All of the above.  Now, imagine you’re a young black woman working on the track alongside, A, B, C, and D.  What is THAT like?  Well, we’re all getting ready to find out exactly what it was like because Ms. Mauritia Grant has slapped the racing organization with a $225 million lawsuit, alleging racial and sexual discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful termination.

‘In the lawsuit she details her experiences on the track over the years and incidents leading up to her being fired.   She recalled that “when packing up a dark garage at Texas Motor Speedway an official told her to ’Keep smiling and pop your eyes out ’cause we can’t see you.”  Not only that, she alleges to have been called names like “Nappy Headed Mo” and “Queen Sheba,” by co-workers.

For more than two years, the 32 year-old worked as a technical inspector certifying cars in NASCAR’s second-tier Nationwide Series. To see the gory details, read the full story here.

Barack Prepares for War

Barack Obama has talked a lot about bringing the troops home and ending the war, but it appears that his own war is about to begin as he makes his trek to the White House.  It’s being reported that the first black man to head the Democratic Presidential nomination is preparing a “war room” of sorts.

The Obama campaign has been bombarded with negative press regarding his background.  There’s still those who believe they still don’t know him.  He’s been called a muslim even after the “common sense-less” has seen him lambasted about his christian minister and mentor Rev. Jeremiah Wright.   The poor guy is making some of the most moving speeches ever heard on a campaign trail to become the next President of the U.S., yet he’s been labeled unpatriotic for not wearing a flag pin.  Give it a rest, you say?  Not gonna happen.  In comes his own personal cyberspace troops to deflect the shrapnel that is sure to rain in his direction.

The best way to win a fight is to diffuse the situation before it gets started. Obama is showing himself as a great strategist in making this move to implement a cyber team that will combat the online smear campaign that has haunted Barack for many months, as well as, wipe out future attackers.  Read more about the “team” here

Youtube phenom Dondria readies release

Jermaine Dupri, who was recently called on the carpet by one of his A-town industry cohorts (DJ Greg Street) for his questionable hit making abilities and copy-cat mogul ways, is in full push mode behind Dondria aka Phatfffat, the first digitally grown artists to get her chance in the R&B spotlight.

Phat used the insanely popular Youtube network to showcase her skills, covering songs by several popular artists (Keyshia Cole, Alicia Keys, Ciara, Chrisette Michelle, etc), which led to her being discovered and ultimately signed by Dupri to SoSo Def/Island Urban.  She’s about to drop her first studio recorded single ‘Can’t Stop’ on June 17th.

Are we impressed?  Maybe…  The girl has skills that didn’t get her license revoked for murdering other people’s hits, but there’s something about going from the hair brush and the mirror to the studio to record that leaves a little to be desired.  To be fair, we are gonna blame the material (cookie cutter tracks that you’ll forget about almost as soon as the song ends), because she does have the chops by today’s standards.  C’mon JD…can we get something fresh?!?!

Here she is singing ’Promise’ by Ciara.

‘Love Is You’ originally by Chrisette Michelle

Now that you’ve heard those, check out her myspace page for three finished studio tracks.
