Lebron James Checks His Mom

The playoffs are in full swing and the meeting between the Celtics and the Cavaliers has been heating up.  But last night, in the second quarter of game 4, the heat was turned all the way up when the Celtics’ Paul Pierce and Cavs’ LeBron James got tangled up in a very physical foul that ran the two into the crowd behind the basket.  The way James’ mom, Gloria James, then charged up to Pierce in defense of her baby, may have led one to believe they were on the playground. 

According to reports, during the run into the crowd, LeBron allegedly turned to his mom and told her to “sit her ass down!”  Unheard of right?  But, we all know, this isn’t the first time we’ve been acquainted with his mother.  She was arrested in 2006 for disorderly conduct and a DUI.  Maybe LeBron thought his mom might brandish a firearm too…who knows! 

After the incident, LeBron had this to say, “I told her to sit down, in some language I shouldn’t have used,” James said. “Thank God today wasn’t Mother’s Day. All I could think about is her. … I know my mother. It’s fine, we’re good.”   Check out the video of the incident.  Make your own call.

Foxxy Brown is Cleaning up the Ill Na Na

After serving eight months of a one-year sentence for probation violations, Foxxy Brown is finally free.  In the newest issue of Jet that will be on newsstands Tuesday, May 13, she is candid about what she plans to do with the rest of her life. 

“I want to do things different now and to show people the maturation. There will be a big change, but no one does a 360 overnight. I’ve learned to accept my shortcomings and flaws. I’ve made mistakes,” she tells JET.

Although Brown hasn’t released an album in seven years, she still has supporters out there that believe she can get it done.   

 ”I believe she has the skills.  They aren’t going anywhere,” said Poke of the duo Trackmasters, who discovered Brown.  “Coming this time around, she needs to fix her attitude toward the business and how to deal with people.’  (p. 56)

Brown is set to release an independent mix tape, “Brooklyn’s Don Diva” on May 13, and a double CD on Christmas Eve, entitled “Black Roses.”

BET’s College Hill Goes to London

The cast of BET’s College Hill is off to London and the trip is really big seeing that most of the cast has never left the country.  The vibe is good and they are trying to make the most of it.  Once they meet their cultural exchange partners and get acquainted with the new culture, things get exciting and a bit of flirting jumps off between the two groups. 

At dinner their first night, there is thick tension because Drew decides to sit between Ashley L. and Ashley R.  But as they get more familiar with London and the people, the culture shock brings the fighting groups together…at least for right now.   Join in, Tuesday’s at 10pm EST.

Prom Dress Lands Student in Handcuffs

Marche Taylor, a high-school student from Houston, Texas, probably thought her dress was a killer, but surely she didn’t imagine it would end her up in jail.  As reported in the Dallas Morning News, Madison High School’s prom took place at the Sugar Land Marriot, but Taylor didn’t get past the lobby before an official stopped her at the door and prevented her from entering the prom.  The prom official told Taylor that her dress violated a school dress code.

“She shook her head, she was like you are not getting into this prom,” said Taylor. “We were arguing back and forth because I wanted to know why I can’t get into my prom.”

Nothing, not even an offer of more covering would get her inside.  Taylor argued to get her money back since she wouldn’t be permitted to enter the prom.  As the argument escalated, someone called authorities and once the officers arrived, she was handcuffed and removed from the premisces.

Taylor was not charged and eventually released.

ATL SOULJA GIRL LOSES IT ON MARTA

A young black female riding Atlanta’s MARTA train was allegedly angered by an elderly woman and went into a rant saying that she would “kill” the woman and that she would also have someone kill George Bush.   An onlooker commented on the rant and she proceeded to let him have it saying that he had “raped” her.  The tirade went on for several minutes until she ended up being confronted by the man she shouted had raped her.  She also said that she had been looking for him.  Clearly the young woman is deeply disturbed (as you will view for yourself) and needs to seek some help…IMMEDIATELY!
